Winter 2007 Newsletter from HerbsAllAround

Thank you to all for your patience while your herbalist
finished the Nurse Practitioner Master's Program and then
passed the National Board Certification Exam with the
American Association of Nurse Practitioners! I am now a
Family Nurse Practitioner. I will keep you updated on how
this specifically affects my herbal practice; for now I am
still seeing clients and making your individualized
materials as usual, while investigating the ins and outs of
prescriptive authority, MD collaboration and becoming an
accepted provider with insurance companies.

I am seeing clients for consultations and manual
therapies at my home office and also at Weeds of Eden, a
great herb store and information resource at 1572 Bardstown
Road in Louisville Kentucky. Myron Hardesty, the owner, is
a wonderfully knowledgeable herbalist. He is in the middle
of Physician's Assistant school and will have a practice
level very similar to mine when he gets through. (PA's and
NP's, feel free to argue on the message board! We need to
talk!) He has two herb students at the shop, Nishaan and
Joe, who can answer a lot of your herbal questions and help
supply your herbal and nutritional materials as well.

The website is updated, and February classes are
posted. Note that Sunday and Tuesday sections are available
for registration. The webmarket page will be functional and
expanded soon. I get many fascinating questions and
comments about a wide variety of integrative health
subjects..please post them on the website message board so
many more can participate in the ongoing process of
changing health care in this country. As always, let me
know what services, classes or products you would like to
see in the coming year.

Be well,
Laurie
