What's happening at HerbsAllAround

Thank you to all the friends, clients, and helpers who have
made the last year at HerbsAllAround such a great
experience. I have a small but entirely functional home
office, with consultation, store and library space,
massage/treatment room, herb processing room and of course,
kitchen. Best of all, the herb and vegetable garden has
expanded, in part because God sent a tree through the
garage by way of a bolt of lightning, creating more open
space with direct sunlight. And for the first time, we are
offering our most popular teas and other products for sale
in the store and on-line. Also new is the message board
where I hope folks can discuss some of the herbal and
health issues we have encountered.
In the coming months I will be working with other
herbalists, nurses, massage therapists and other interested
healthcare providers to bring you classes and events.
HerbsAllAround will soon be a continuing education provider
for massage therapists and other health professionals. We
welcome feedback and suggestions on the Message Board at
www.herbsallaround.org.
Here is a list of upcoming classes and events. Please
see the Calendar page at www.herbsallaround.org for more
details and register by calling 502-895-7205.

Massage and Herbs for Head and Chest Colds
Coordinating with the Winter Forum, this class describes
the anatomy and physiology of head and chest that relates
to winter congestion, aches and nagging coughs. We then
learn about materials and techniques that safely help to
prevent and counteract these "flu" experiences. Some
playing with herbs and some massage practice is included.

2005 February 19
Herbs and Techniques for Hands
This class describes the anatomy and physiology of
hands and wrists on a level comfortable for general public
and health professionals. We will discuss herbs and related
materials used in caring for the hands. We will make a
personalized massage oil and practice techniques for hand
massage. A very "hands-on" class with much playing with
herbs and practice of techniques.

2005 March 18 and 19
Beginning and Intermediate Spring Cleanse
These classes coordinate with the Spring Forum, which is
all about the subject of cleansing. Many myths, strong
opinions and misconceptions abound! We will learn about
herbs, foods, massage techniques and other treatments that
help gradually and gently clear unwanted metabolic products
from the body. As usual, there are many materials to
nibble, sip and play with. You will make a tea, oil or bath
salt bag to take home.

2005 April 29,30, May 1
Spring Herbal Retreat Weekend
The gentlest, tastiest, most relaxing Spring Cleaning
your body could have! This retreat is being coordinated now
so check back for place, cost, details. It will be a 3-day
weekend but if you can't get that darned Friday off a 2-day
option will be available. Space for this event will be
limited so call to register soon.

-wishing you good health, Laurie
