Garden 2010 Products
dried herbs, tasties, tinctures, oils
Our very first organic garden was a great success! We use filtered river water and rainwater, and fertilizer from local happy organic cows to grow 4 beds of wonderful plants! This year we expanded the rain-collecting, filtering and drip-irrigation system. No pesticides other than natural plant-based bug-discouragers and techniques are used. We also are taking many pleasant hikes and canoes in the hollers and backwaters, respectfully gathering beautiful and useful plants, and making protected places for them to grow again. These plants are listed with "(w/c)" following them.
The greenhouse is up and the HerbsAllAround elves are looking forward to spending the late winter puttering around in its warmth..as soon as the wall-tent stove is put in! Fresh greens, herbs and spices are available now.
Our tinctures are made gently, with filtered and distilled water which is stored in non-plastic containers, using grain alcohol to a by-weight concentration of 50%. Oils are made by infusing fresh or freshly dried materials in cold-pressed olive oil, steeping up to one month using no more than 100 degree (F) heat, and preserved with Vitamin E oil and rosemary essential oil.
Below are listed this year's available dried plants, oils and tinctures so far. More will be added as the garden season progresses! Up to 1/2 pound (8 ounces) of most materials are available while supplies last. Price listed is in U.S. Dollars per ounce.
Try this!...order a little bit of many things, create your own tea, sachet or spice mix!
